C# is the most commonly used language in back end coding, and one of the most attractive to potential employers.

Digital skills are in high demand, with back end web development ranking fifth out of the top ten most in-demand digital jobs in Alberta (ICTC-CTIC, 2019).

Learn C# in this part-time, fully online certificate offered as a partnership between Continuing Education and the University of Alberta’s Technology Training Centre (TTC). Work through solutions in real-time with practicing professionals, interacting with the experienced TTC team of instructors through live online classes and a one-on-one “homework help” service that is built into every course.

Cost

The approximate cost of this Certificate will depend on the number of elective courses taken.
Course Fees range from $545 to $1,145 CAD.
Pay as you go - students pay on a course-by-course basis as they register. You do not need to pay the entire program fee at once.
An application fee of $100 CAD is required for admission into the program.
Courses are GST-exempt.
Consider applying for the Canada-Alberta Job Grant.

Program Details

This certificate consists of six core courses (total of 212 hours) and a minimum of 40 hours of electives. Courses are a variety of lengths but combine to a minimum total of 252 hours.
This program is designed for part-time study and can generally be completed within one to two years.
Students have the flexibility to schedule courses around their availability. Typically students complete 1-4 courses per semester based on the course length.
To enroll in most courses of this program you must have completed the foundational course JavaScript I or, alternatively, have passed Online and Continuing Education’s JavaScript Skills Assessment. Note: JavaScript I may be used toward the minimum requirement of elective hours for this certificate.
Courses are graded with assessments. This might include quizzes, exams, discussion forums, papers, and presentations

Individual courses are open for general studies and may be completed without being admitted into a program .

How to Apply for your Credential

Students can verify their program requirements and progress by logging into the University of Alberta’s student portal, Bear Tracks, to view your Academic Advisement.
A cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 is required to graduate.
To qualify for program completion, you must submit a request to obtain your credential.

Transferability

The courses in this program are also transferable to the the Full-Stack Web Development Diploma and the User Experience / User Interface Certificate.

International Students are welcome to enroll in our courses, with the only requirement being a stable internet connection. There are no differential course fees for international students completing courses in this program.
