The Fellowship in Health System Improvement is designed for middle- to senior-level leaders in health organizations. It comprises 5 weekend modules run over 8 to 9 months, 3 of them being in-person and the other two via Zoom.

The themes for the modules are:  Leadership, health system performance and transformational change; The political environment and managing the health system; The health workforce; Developing a quality culture; and Innovation and sustainability of health systems.

The major project that Fellows have to complete is an Action Learning Project (ALP). ALP proposals are submitted by our partner organizations, such as Alberta Health Services, the Canadian Armed Forces, Interior Health in BC, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and Saskatchewan Health Authority. Each ALP team is supported by a mentor (a retired senior health executive), an Academic Advisor and a LEADS Coach.

The program accepts no more than 24 Fellows per cohort, and the fee is currently $10,000. The intake for the 2024/25 program will open in April 2024.
