Program Description
Knowing how to initiate, lead, and manage successful change initiatives is vital to organizations and key to being a successful manager. You must act quickly, manage anxiety and resistance, share decision-making, and communicate with transparency, all while leading others.
Through a set of three three-day workshops, you will examine the key concepts and unique skills required in the role of the change agent, both as a leader and as a participant.

Through these courses, you will:
- Recognize the concepts of people change management
- Describe the importance, of a strategic change management approach
- Apply Kotter's Accelerate 8-Step model to a case study and assess reasons for change failure

- Professionals in entry to mid-level management who are change agents within their organizations
- Students may come from a wide range of employment sectors, including private, governmental, and educational organizations

Cost
- The approximate cost of this series is $2,085 CAD
- Course Fees range from $645 to $795 CAD
- Pay as you go - students pay on a course-by-course basis as they register. You do not need to pay the entire program fee at once
- Courses are GST-exempt
- Consider applying for the Canada-Alberta Job Grant

Program Details
- This series is comprised of three core courses. Each core course is 21 hours in length, for a total of 63 hours
- Typical course load is one to two courses per term, and we offer courses in Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall terms. When following this structure, students can fulfill the certificate requirements within six months to one year
- Courses do not have to be completed in any specific order, allowing students to choose the courses that best fit their schedule in any given term. Students have the flexibility to schedule courses around their availability.
- Typically students complete 1-3 courses per semester based on the course length
- Courses are graded with assessments. This might include quizzes, exams, discussion forums, papers, and presentations

How to Apply
- There are no admission requirements or process students need to complete when pursuing a Continuing Education Professional Series
How to Apply for your Record of Achievement
- Once students have completed the required courses they can Request their Record of Achievement for series completion
- Record of Achievements are sent electronically to the student's UAlberta email address.
Transferability
- Courses can be used toward accreditation through the ACMP
- We are a Association of Change Management Professionals (ACMP) Qualified Education Provider
- Transferable: complete of any of the three workshops, and you may receive elective 21 credit hours in the Management Development Certificate program
- Transferable: complete of all three workshops, and you may receive credit for one 39 hour elective course in the Human Resources Management Certificate program

International Students
- International Students are welcome to enroll in our courses, with the only requirement being a stable internet connection. There are no differential course fees for international students completing courses in this program
- Students are responsible for ensuring that they are proficient in English so that they can fully participate in classes
- Please note that non-credit programming does not qualify for a study permit, therefore this program cannot be used for immigration to Canada. Foreign nationals authorized to work in Canada who are prohibited from engaging in studies as a condition of their work permit are allowed to engage in distance learning courses.
