Keeping skills up to date with current trends is vital to any role. Increasingly, administrative assistants are being recognized as key team members, and as such, employers are looking for a higher level of professionalism.
The Canadian Certified Administrative Professional (CCAP) designation is a benchmark of excellence for the advanced administrative professional. The designation is awarded by the Association of Administrative Professionals (AAP), a national association whose main purpose is to encourage people in the business world to continuously upgrade their professionalism through continuing education.
The Certified Administrative Professional program will provide you with valuable background in general business education, assist you in understanding corporate initiatives, advance your professional development, and prepare you for future office demands and innovations.

What You'll Earn
- 🗸The CCAP program comprises seven AAP courses (or eight equivalent Continuing Education courses) that must be completed to apply for the designation. As a university accredited by the Association of Administrative Professionals (AAP), U of A offers all courses needed to fulfill the designation’s educational requirements. - 🗸The CCAP designation also carries an experience requirement. Please consult the AAP’s website for more information on the program's non-educational components.
- Approximate cost of the full program: $5,850 CAD effective Fall 2025
- Flexible payment – pay course-by-course as you go
- Courses are GST-exempt
- Some courses may require additional resources, such as textbooks
- It’s designed for part-time study and can generally be completed within 1-2 years.
- You have the flexibility to schedule courses around your availability. Most students complete 1-3 courses per semester.
- Courses don’t have to be completed in any specific order, so you can choose the courses that best fit your schedule.
- Grading is through assessments, which could include quizzes, exams, discussion forums, papers, and presentations.
- This program offers a flexible online experience.

- After you successfully complete your program requirements, you will need to contact CCAP and submit your transcript to CCAP directly. If you have any questions about your credentials, please contact the program office.
- The courses in this program are also transferable to the Management Development, Occupational Health and Safety, and NACLAA programs

- International Students are welcome to enroll and pay the same course fees as local students.
- Proficiency in English and a stable internet connection are needed to participate and succeed in our courses.
