Course Description

Leadership and organizational culture greatly influence the success of health and wellness initiatives and programs. Explore relevant characteristics of workplace culture and learn strategies to assess organizational receptivity to health and wellness. Review the main leadership styles in the workplace, with a focus on how health and wellness professionals can apply to lead wellness initiatives and programs. You will also be introduced to topics such as communication and facilitation strategies, resource tools, industry benchmarking, and employee engagement.

Learner Outcomes

By the end of this course, you should be able to: Explain the concepts of organizational culture and leadership in relation to health and wellness in the workplace. Identify different types of cultures and how they impact health and wellness receptivity in the workplace. Apply knowledge of a leadership model and describe how the styles impact the opportunity for leaders to support employee health and wellness needs in the workplace. Assess and analyze organizational culture and leadership factors relevant to workplace wellness strategy and implementation design. Utilize evidence based practices to advocate for a wellness-focused culture through transformational leadership strategies. Describe the process to develop and facilitate an effective wellness behavioural change campaign.
