Course Description

Stretch your abil­i­ties as you inte­grate the the­o­ry, meth­ods, and tools you have learned from pre­vi­ous cours­es to apply these to a project using Python. Mir­ror­ing indus­try prac­tice, you will work as part of a team, use source control technologies and project management systems as a means to collaborate efficiently.

This course may be eligible for the Canada-Alberta Productivity Grant (CAPG), with final approval determined by CAPG administrators. Employers and applicants can review the CAPG guidelines and full details on the University of Alberta’s Continuing Education website.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  • 🗸 Write Python unit tests using unittest.
  • 🗸 Install and use a third-party Python package.
  • 🗸 Use Python to read, edit, remove, and add entries to/from a database.

Notes

EXSM 3951 Python Project is 40 hours.
