EXBA 5691 - Solution Design and Quality Assurance
Course Description
Great solutions address the needs of their intended users through good design. This course provides an overview of design thinking and how Business Analysts are involved in the solution design process. Students will learn how to create effective and compelling interfaces, and to develop solutions for managing data. Students will also understand how to define and assess the quality of a solution and how to create quality assurance processes.
This course may be eligible for the Canada-Alberta Productivity Grant (CAPG), with final approval determined by CAPG administrators. Employers and applicants can review the CAPG guidelines and full details on the University of Albertaโs Continuing Education website.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
- ๐ธ Define the elements that make up communication.
- ๐ธ Assess communication requirements and develop methods to address them.
- ๐ธ Compare different communication methods and determine appropriate channels for various situations.
- ๐ธ Describe factors that affect a person’s ability to influence others.
- ๐ธ Identify sources of risk, analyze risks, and develop risk management approaches.
