EXLDR 5621 - Leadership Communications
Course Description
Leadership at all levels depends upon communication. Topics may include: persuasive communication; generating buy-in; internal and external communications strategies; influence and influencing others; and communicating through conflict.
Who Should Take This Course?
Aimed at emerging leaders, supervisors, and mid-level managers who seek to move up within their organization by improving their leadership skills.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, students should be able to:

- 🗸 Implement strategies for persuasion and influence.
- 🗸 Select and design effective leadership documents and other media.
- 🗸 Implement communication strategies for effective teams and meetings.
- 🗸 Implement leadership communication strategies for organizational, transformational, and external audiences.
- 🗸 Plan leadership communication strategies.
- 🗸 Plan for and make presentations.
- 🗸 Apply leadership and communication principles to team leadership.
- 🗸 Apply leadership and communication principles to difficult one-on-on, team and organizational communication.
- 🗸 Use principles of effective negotiation to reach agreements that satisfy both sides as much as possible.
