EXLGP 8211 - Policy Planning and Program Evaluation
Course Description
Covers the central role of planning in municipal decision-making, as well as the implementation of programs and evaluations of both policies and programs. Program evaluation is of increasing importance because a municipality must assess existing programs before it can reorient them to deliver new policies, long-term plans, or alternative objectives.
This course may be eligible for the Canada-Alberta Productivity Grant (CAPG), with final approval determined by CAPG administrators. Employers and applicants can review the CAPG guidelines and full details on the University of Albertaโs Continuing Education website.
Who Should Take This Course?
Aimed at individuals who are currently working in positions with greater responsibilities within the local government field, as well as those working toward their Certified Local Government Manager designation.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
