EXCPE 5464 - Intellectual Property Forward Mindset - Recognition and Commercialization
Course Description
This course focuses on identifying intellectual property opportunities and translating them into marketable innovations. Topics include: defining the four main components of intellectual property and the different protections offered by Canadian legislation; recognizing intellectual property assets; completion of the intellectual property audit process; and developing and updating audit documentation as intellectual property is created and developed.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
- 🗸 Define the four main components of Intellectual Property (patents, trademarks, copyright, and industrial design) and the different protections offered by federal legislation in Canada.
- 🗸 Recognize Intellectual Property assets.
- 🗸 Complete the Intellectual Property audit process for each Intellectual Property type.
- 🗸 Develop and update audit documents as new Intellectual Property is created and developed.

Intellectual Property & Commercialization Online Micro-courses
