Program Description

Attracting, retaining, and effectively managing employees is essential for organizational success in today’s competitive landscape. As the demands of various industries continue to evolve, building a high-performing team becomes a priority.

Canadian organizations experience significant financial impacts from poor hiring decisions, with estimated losses ranging from $20,000 to $40,000 for each unsuccessful hire (Robert Half Canada; LinkedIn Talent Insights, 2024). Consequently, developing the skills necessary to make informed and strategic HR decisions is increasingly vital. Organizations that strategically align with workforce development best practices are 35% more likely to surpass competitors in revenue and retention (PricewaterhouseCoopers, 2024).

The HR Leadership: Talent Strategy and Labour Relations Certificate equips participants to make impactful contributions to workplace performance and sustainable talent management. Through a practical and integrated approach, this program enables learners to develop effective hiring strategies that encompass job analysis, applicant sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selection. Additionally, participants will explore how aligning HR practices across labour relations, compensation, and talent acquisition can foster long-term organizational success.

Designation Pathway

Courses in this program are approved in alignment with the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources of Alberta (CPHR Alberta) Competency Framework. Successful completion of this certificate fulfills the coursework requirements for the CPHR Alberta coursework path.
