Course Description

This is an interdisciplinary course based on the premise that managerial decision-making is dynamic. The scope of business decision-making requires and understanding of business issues, human resources, managerial functions, business ethics and responsibility, and group dynamics. This course will explore the management functions and the areas of national and international business in which these are continually practiced.

Who Should Take This Course?

Aimed at individuals in supervisory or management positions who wish to upgrade or sharpen their managerial abilities, this course will also benefit prospective or aspiring managers ready to take the next step in their careers.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  • 🗸 Apply basic concepts of marketing, HR, operations, and finance/accounting, as well as incorporate such concepts in the decision-making process.
  • 🗸 Assess business cases and evaluate the effectiveness of the respective corporate strategy. 🗸 Work in teams to accomplish a specific objective.
  • 🗸 Write business reports conforming to professional standards.
  • 🗸 Evaluate marketing strategies to promote sales.
  • 🗸 Identify ethical issues encountered by decision makers.
  • 🗸 Identify the challenges of small business management.
  • 🗸 Identify the role of government and crown corporations as partners in the economy.
