Course Description

JavaScript is a programming language that allows you to implement complex features on web pages including timely content updates, interactive maps, animated graphics and more. Students will be introduced to JavaScript by exploring the fundamentals of programming in JavaScript, and learn to apply these concepts in a console environment. Topics include decisions, iteration, exceptions, encapsulation, proper code structure and debugging strategies.

This course may be eligible for the Canada-Alberta Productivity Grant (CAPG), with final approval determined by CAPG administrators. Employers and applicants can review the CAPG guidelines and full details on the University of Alberta’s Continuing Education website.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  • 🗸 Add JavaScript code and functionality to a web page.
