EXFRM 2712 - Rehabilitation for Children with Disabilities
Course Description
This course introduces technologies used in pediatric rehabilitation for children with selected conditions. This course covers Emotional Regulation & Sensory Processing, Augmentative & Alternative Communication, Pediatric Gait Assessment & Training, and Pediatric Seated Mobility.
You will learn strategies to support a child’s emotional regulation, improve communication with caregivers, set wheelchair and seating goals, and use specific technologies for pediatric gait training.

This course is designed for Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and other healthcare professionals who want to stay current and enhance their impact in this growing area of practice.
Learning Objectives
By the end the course, students will be able to:

- 🗸 Identify effective strategies to communicate effectively with clients/caregivers according to their individual needs.
- 🗸 Describe evidence for using select technologies in pediatric gait training interventions.
